Port Monmouth Fire Company #1 is one of eleven volunteer fire companies that serve Middletown, New Jersey. Founded in 1922, the company would go on to be the 6th company to join and form the Middletown Fire Department, earning itself the title of Station 6.
Entirely staffed by volunteers, the members of the company dedicate their free time to serve the community. Countless hours go into performing maintenance on the apparatus, responding to emergency calls and educating the community on fire safety. Annually, we respond to over 200 fire calls throughout the area.
Assisting the fire company is a another organization, the Port Monmouth Auxiliary, largely consisting of firefighter's spouses and friends, who help keep the firehouse operational and host fundraisers.
We currently house and maintain 5 pieces of apparatus; 3 fire apparatus, one high-water rescue vehicle and an antique pumper. We are also the only company in town which has retained full ownership of an antique fire apparatus, our 1947 Ahrens Fox.
In order to function, Port Monmouth Fire Company operates a Fund Drive mailing and hosts a number of fundraising events which are always open to the public. All funds raised go towards keeping the firehouse operational, training and host community!
