If you're interested in joining the Port Monmouth Fire Company, we're always looking for dedicated individuals to be part of our team. You must be at least 18 years old to join as a firefighter or social member, and no prior experience is required. It's also important to know that you do not have to become an interior firefighter to make a difference.

We offer several ways to get involved. Social members include both certified firefighters and those who choose not to fight fires. These members play a vital role by assisting with firehouse duties, organizing and supporting fundraising events, and participating in company meetings. Their contributions help keep our company running smoothly and connected to the community.

If you are interested in becoming an interior firefighter, you’ll need to attend the fire academy and complete the New Jersey Firefighter 1 certification. This training involves both classroom instruction and hands-on experience to prepare you for safely operating on the fireground.

For those under 18, we encourage teens ages 14 and older to consider joining the Middletown Fire Explorer Post. This program offers hands-on experience and training opportunities for young people who want to learn more about firefighting and community service. Explorers who meet certain criteria can even respond to calls and assist firefighters on scene.
